OU graduations

OU announced its commencement schedule for its Spring 2024 graduation.

The University of Oklahoma has announced its graduation schedule for the Class of 2024.

The initial commencement ceremony will begin Thursday, May 9 at Lloyd Noble Center, 2900 S. Jenkins Ave. According to a university news release, all commencements will be filled with pageantry as graduates and guests will be welcomed by bagpipers and color guards at each ceremony.

In addition to recognizing graduates, the university will also bestow honorary degrees on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11.

Ceremonies will be accompanied by the OU wind symphony and brass percussion performers with flags representing OU’s international and Native American communities.

OU announced it would confer 9,842 degrees between the Spring 2024 and December 2023 commencements, which include 6,157 bachelor’s degrees, 2,479 master’s degrees, 374 doctoral degrees, 812 professional degrees, and 116 college-level certificates.

Doors will open one hour prior to each ceremony, and guests will be seated in the seating bowl of the arena. Doctoral, master’s and undergraduates should enter through any door and proceed to the seating area on the arena floor.

Sign language and interpreting services for guests who are deaf or hard of hearing will be available in section 124, and captioning will be available on the scoreboard screens. The southeast corner lower legacy court is the preferred accessibility entrance for guests who need special accommodations.

Parking is available for guests and graduates outside of Lloyd Noble Center. Accessible parking is located on the southeast side of the arena.

2:30 p.m. – College of Allied Health, Hudson College of Public Health, and Health Sciences Graduate College

7 p.m. – Jeanine Rainbolt College of Education, Christopher C. Gibbs College of Architecture, Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication, and David L. Boren College of International Studies

Saturday, May 11

9 a.m. – Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences: Humanities and Natural Sciences, Weitzenhoffer Family College of Fine Arts, and College of Professional and Continuing Studies

12:30 p.m. – Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences: Professional Programs and Social Sciences

10 a.m. – College of Pharmacy (Ceremony will be held in Paul F. Sharp Concert Hall at Catlett Music Center, 500 W. Boyd St., Norman, OK 73019)

OU-Tulsa will honor graduates in a Commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 7, at Donald W. Reynolds Center, 3208 E. 8th St. Tulsa, OK 74104.”

Guests and graduates will pass through a security screening before entering the venue. OU enforces a clear bag policy. Approved clear bags are a maximum of 12 inches by 6 inches by 12 inches, or a one-gallon clear plastic freezer bag.

Prohibited items include alcohol in all forms, baby seats, baby strollers, backpacks, camera bags, diaper bags, fanny packs, purses, binocular cases, balloons, banners/signs, beach balls, footballs, balls, other sporting equipment, clear backpacks, coolers, containers, ice chests, explosives, firearms, weapons, folding chairs, stools, food, drink, gift-wrapped packages, laptops, laser pointers, noisemakers of any type, personal heaters, pets (with the exception of registered service dogs), selfie sticks, bipods, monopods, and umbrellas.

All OU facilities are tobacco, electronic cigarette, and vaping device-free.
